#96 DESIGNING THE STORE * (revised 6/2) storage and display healed in plants and signature waterfall

We have designated several uses for this tucked in area of the site #J. More storage and display of large trees are located on the perimeter.

Part of the area is used for only one or two varieties of evergreen shrubs. These could be classified as a “special truckload specials”. The plants are balled and burlapped. Placed on the ground in order and covered with sawdust or bark. It is intended for the customer who wants a special price on a large number of these plants. This area is located strategically near the front of the store for good “curb visibility” and signing. It is also easy to remove and load the plants from area #I, away from heavy customer vehicle flow. This is a quick sale and move area and the plants change frequently throughout the gardening season. As the season turns into early hot summer, the remaining shrubs are pulled from this area, re-processed and potted for sale. The area becomes display for plants and garden accessories until season close

Ah, the smell of bark, fresh plants, and the arrival of spring! Too many fancy garden stores are just so sterile these days. We want our customers to sense the organic of it all. This area has the aroma of the earth, and the immediacy of fresh plants ready for the gardener

The remaining part of this area is the location for our signature waterfall feature in each of our green garden gates stores. We are using a Basalt rock waterfall in our Oklahoma store. The other stores will have different designs and materials.

For protection and security, gates slide back to give the customer an unobstructed view of the waterfall during store hours with the gates closed at night. The area will be lighted in the evening and on cloudy days during the season. This waterfall is not for sale, but we can have a similar one for sale and installed.
The background of the heeled in emerald green tall evergreens behind and around the waterfall gives a dramatic feast of sight for passing motorists
